Purpose and limitations
WayFinder provides supplementary, camera-based scene information for blind and low-vision people. AI analysis can be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or unavailable. It may miss stairs, holes, traffic, moving objects, or other hazards.
- Keep using a white cane, guide dog, orientation and mobility skills, human assistance, and your own judgement.
- Do not cross streets, enter traffic, or navigate stairs based solely on WayFinder output.
- Do not use WayFinder as a replacement for emergency services.
- Stop when the app says it cannot see or cannot verify a scene.
Eligibility and account
You must be at least 13 years old. You are responsible for safeguarding the sign-in account you use and for activity performed through it.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to abuse, overload, bypass quotas, compromise, or unlawfully reverse-engineer the service. Do not use it to infringe another person's privacy or rights.
Availability
WayFinder requires an internet connection for visual analysis. Service can be interrupted for maintenance, provider failures, quota enforcement, or technical problems. Offline, WayFinder does not replay an old scene answer as current and does not guess.
Lifetime analysis quota
Each authenticated account receives a limited number of visual analyses. There is no subscription or paid upgrade in the current pilot. When the limit is reached, the backend refuses further provider calls.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WayFinder and its contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or personal-injury damages arising from use of the software. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
Privacy and changes
Use is also governed by the Privacy Policy. We may update these terms; material changes will be communicated through the app or website.
